Books Waiting To Be Released - October 2016

Sudah masuk bulan Oktober dan saya kembali lagi dengan postingan Books Waiting To Be Released. Semoga ini bukan postingan satu-satunya di bulan Oktober ini. Hahaha…

Seperti biasa, akhir tahun merupakan pesta buku baru bagi saya. Entah kenapa, kebanyakan penulis-penulis favorit saya memutuskan bahwa akhir tahun merupakan waktu yang tepat untuk meluncurkan buku-buku terbaru mereka. Apalagi untuk bulan oktober ini saja ada lebih dari sepuluh buku yang saya ingin baca. Tetapi tidak semua saya tampilkan di daftar ini.

Nah, berikut beberapa buku-buku incaran saya yang terbit bulan ini.

1. The Hammer of Thor - Rick Riordan (4 Oktober 2016)

Thor's hammer is missing again. The thunder god has a disturbing habit of misplacing his weapon--the mightiest force in the Nine Worlds. But this time the hammer isn't just lost, it has fallen into enemy hands. The Hammer of Thor merupakan buku kedua dari seri Magnus Chase karya Rick Riordan. Tidak lagi berkiblat ke Yunani, di seri ini Riordan membawa legenda Dewa-Dewi Viking ke hadapan pembacanya. Sejujurnya sih, plotnya hampir sama saja dengan seri Percy Jackson, tapi karena kepiawaian menulis Riordan saya jadi nggak merasa bosan membacanya :)

 2. Replica (Replica #1) - Lauren Oliver (4 Oktober 2016)

Gemma has been in and out of hospitals since she was born. 'A sickly child', her lonely life to date has revolved around her home, school and one best friend, Alice. Sebenarnya, karya-karya Lauren Oliver masih berupa hit and miss bagi saya. Seri Deliriumnya yang terkenal itu hanya terasa biasa-biasa saja bagi saya, tetapi saya sangat menyukai Liesl & Po. Entah kenapa synopsis Replica menarik perhatian saya, dan semoga bukunya sebagus sinopsisnya :)

3. Two By Two - Nicholas Sparks (4 Oktober 2016)

Nicholas Spark itu identik dengan air mata bagi saya. Hampir semua bukunya membuat mata saya mendadak sembab. Dan endingnya itu… yang kebanyakan sedih daripada bahagianya :(

Hal itu juga yang membuat kadang saya males membaca buku-bukunya, soalnya saya lebih milih buku yang berakhir bahagia daripada berderai air mata. Tapi, kali ini bener-bener kangen ama karya Spark… jadilah buku ini masuk kedalam daftar bacaan Oktober saya :)

4. Twisted Palace (The Royals #3) - Erin Watt (17 Oktober 2016)

Gara-gara ending menggantung di buku kedua seri Royals ini (Broken Prince) saya jadi menunggu-nunggu kemunculan buku ini. Apalagi di sinopsis dibilang Reed mulai sadar kalau kekerasan bukan jalan keluar bagi semua persoalan (yang merupakan kritik saya tentang buku Broken Prince). Semoga saja ini akan menjadi buku terakhir di seri ini…

5. Beard Science - Penny Reid (18 Oktober 2016)

Make a deal with the devil and you might get what you want, but will it be what you need?

Beard Science merupakan buku ketiga dari seri Winston Brothers. Seri yang bercerita mengenai para lelaki Winston ini bener-bener bikin saya ngakak. Ceritanya kocak tetapi tetap romantis. Dan buku ini berfokus kepada Cletus Winston, yang paling bikin penasaran selama buku satu dan dua dengan kejeniusan dan sifat pendiamnya…

6. Punk 57 - Penelope Douglas (21 Oktober 2016)

Misha I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me. In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. Sinopsis buku ini aja udah bikin saya gregetan pengen baca, dan mesti nunggu tiga minggu lagi baru tersedia :(

  

7. The Whistler - John Grisham (25 Oktober 2016)

Drama hukum… itu yang selalu bisa saya andalkan dari karya-karya John Grisaham. Buku pertama dari seri Whistler ini sangat menarik minat saya karena bercerita mengenai hakim korup. Sudah cukup lama juga saya tidak membaca drama-drama pengadilan John Grisham. Terakhir yang saya baca adalah seri terbaru Theodore Boone, yang lebih ditujukan kepada remaja/young adult.

8. While the Duke Was Sleeping - Sophie Jordan (25 Oktober 2015)

Historical romance merupakan genre favorit saya. Tetapi akhir-akhir ini saya sangat jarang membacanya. Oleh karena ini saya berniat membaca minimal satu HR setiap bulannya. Dan untuk bulan ini pilihan saya jatuh kepada buku karya Sophie Jordan ini. Sinopsis juga juga bikin ngiler (walaupun judul dan sinopsis sangat mengingatkan saya akan film While You Were Sleeping). Hahaha…

Nah, itulah sebagian buku incaran saya bulan ini. Sebenarnya masih ada beberapa lagi, tapi kalau saya teruskan postingan ini bakal kepanjangan. Beberapa diantaranya adalah Small Great Things – Jodi Picoult (my fave author!), Sugar Free – Sawyer Bennet, The Boy is Back – Meg Cabot, dan dua buku Jeffrey Archer.

Bulan ini list bacaan saya bener-bener panjang, termasuk didalam juga adalah Siwa karya Amish yang reviewnya akan saya posting dalam beberapa hari ini. Insyaallah… :)
